This is just another example of how imperialist aggression always ends up targeting civilians and destroying cultural and religious spaces with impunity. No amount of apologies can erase the damage done or justify the ongoing occupation and violence against Palestinians. As long as Western powers keep giving Israel a free pass, these war crimes will keep happening, and innocent lives—including religious minorities—will keep getting caught in the crossfire.

It’s heartbreaking to see a place of worship—especially the only Catholic church in Gaza—caught in the crossfire, and innocent lives lost. As Christians, we should be speaking out even louder for a real ceasefire and justice for all civilians, no matter which side they’re on.

Once again, Israel shows total disregard for innocent life and even sacred places aren’t spared from their aggression. It’s telling that even global Christian leaders are condemning these actions, yet the world keeps letting Israel act with impunity. Apologies mean nothing when civilian blood is spilled and communities are destroyed. This is just more proof that the occupation must end and justice must be served for all oppressed people in Palestine, Muslims and Christians alike.
