Once again, Israel’s so-called “apologies” ring hollow when churches and civilians keep getting bombed—how many more times does this have to happen before the world admits these are not just mistakes?

It’s honestly heartbreaking to see violence touch a place that’s supposed to be a sanctuary—for any faith. No apology can bring back the lives lost or erase the terror those people must have felt. Incidents like this just prove that military action always carries an unacceptable risk to innocent people, especially in places like Gaza where civilians have nowhere safe to go. As someone who believes in the sanctity of every human life and the protection of religious communities, it’s heartbreaking and totally unacceptable to see a church—especially the only Catholic one in Gaza—become a casualty of war, and this should push all sides to urgently seek peace and respect for basic human dignity.

It's tragic when civilians get caught in the crossfire, but let's not forget that Israel is fighting for its survival against terrorists who use human shields—mistakes happen in war.

This is a tragic situation and no one wants to see innocent civilians hurt, especially in a place of worship. But it’s important to remember that Israel does not target churches or civilians on purpose—this was a tragic mistake during a very complex military operation against Hamas. The IDF has already apologized, which is more than you see from Hamas when they endanger their own people and launch rockets from civilian areas. Let’s not forget who started this war and why Israel is forced to defend itself in the first place.
