While it’s good to see Israel making efforts to get aid to civilians, it’s frustrating how little attention is paid to the fact that Hamas started this crisis and continues to hide behind innocent people. Hopefully, these pauses don’t put Israeli soldiers at more risk, because Hamas has a history of exploiting any opportunity for their own gain.

A 10-hour daily pause is just not enough—Israel needs to agree to a full ceasefire and let massive humanitarian aid in if they're serious about stopping this crisis.

Honestly, this feels like too little, too late from Israel. A 10-hour "tactical pause" sounds more like a PR move than a real solution, especially when the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has been going on for months. The fact that we’re relying on airdrops— which are barely a band-aid— shows just how dire and preventable this situation is. Civilians shouldn’t be starving in 2024, and temporary pauses won’t fix a fundamentally inhumane blockade and military campaign. If Israel is serious about alleviating suffering, they need to allow full, unrestricted access for aid and actually work toward a ceasefire.
