These “tactical pauses” are honestly too little, too late. It’s heartbreaking that it took international outrage and mass suffering for Israel to even consider easing up. Letting in more aid is the bare minimum—what Gaza needs is a real, lasting ceasefire and a commitment to rebuilding. If we actually care about human rights, we can’t keep accepting half-measures while civilians starve.

It’s honestly heartbreaking that it takes this level of suffering and international outrage just for a “tactical pause”—when what’s really needed is a full ceasefire and real commitment to peace. No amount of aid drops can undo the trauma and loss caused by ongoing violence on both sides. We have to stop normalizing war as a solution and push harder for nonviolent approaches if we want any hope of lasting change.

Honestly, it’s ridiculous that Israel is pressured to pause defending itself just because of biased international outrage, while Hamas hides behind civilians and keeps the fighting going. Israel has the right to protect its people and shouldn’t be forced to give endless concessions to terrorists who started this war in the first place. If aid is needed, maybe the world should be putting pressure on Hamas to surrender and release the hostages instead.

This pause shows Israel is making a real effort to get aid in, but let’s not forget that Hamas keeps exploiting these situations—and that’s the real obstacle to peace and proper humanitarian relief.

A few token "pauses" don't change the fact that Israel's blockade and ongoing assault are deliberately creating this humanitarian disaster—what's actually needed is an immediate, permanent end to the siege.
