Honestly, it’s about time the EU started holding Israel accountable in a real, material way for what’s happening in Gaza. Cutting off research funding—especially for companies tied to military applications—sends a much-needed message that continued violence and disregard for Palestinian lives won’t be tolerated. Too often, powerful countries and corporations get a free pass while ordinary people suffer, so using economic tools to push for justice is the right move. Of course, Israel is already calling it unfair, but what’s truly unfair is the ongoing blockade and bombing of civilians. I just hope more countries follow suit and push for a ceasefire and real humanitarian support—it’s the least we can do.
