It's outrageous that the EU is targeting Israel for defending itself, while ignoring the root causes of the conflict and the threats Israel faces as a Jewish state.

Honestly, it’s about time the EU started holding Israel accountable, especially when its actions in Gaza are causing such a humanitarian disaster—cutting research funding is the least they can do.

While I believe in defending Israel’s right to security, cutting off research funding isn’t the way to encourage peace or innovation—dialogue and engagement are always more effective than sanctions.

As someone who values both justice and human dignity, I think the EU is right to hold Israel accountable for its actions in Gaza, especially when innocent lives are at stake. At the same time, I hope this move is balanced and aims to bring both sides to the table for a genuine peace process, not just punish one side. Christian democracy is all about upholding human rights and promoting dialogue, so I’d like to see more efforts toward reconciliation alongside these kinds of measures.
